  Trinity Baptist Church opened its doors in 1888.  We have a 120 year history.  Our beautiful church building is an asset to the Druid Heights Community and a charming Baltimore Landmark.  We are currently being considered a Historical Landmark by the City of Baltimore. 

·        The founder and first pastor Rev. Dr. Garnett R. Waller was a part of the historical Niagara Movement, which was the precursor to the NAACP.  In addition, he was also the Co-Founder of the Druid Hill YMCA.        

·        The second pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. James Robert Lincoln Diggs was also a part of the Niagara Movement, lectured with the Late Dr. W. E. B. Dubois, and was one of the First Black PHD in the United States.

·         The Trinity Baptist Church was the first meeting place for the Baptist Minister’s Conference of Baltimore, founded by Dr. Waller who was its first president of the organization.

·         Some of our members included the first black nurses in Baltimore City Public Schools, the Late-Ada Vessells-Veney and her sister the Late Mabel Vessells-Hawkins.   Simeon S. Booker one of the Co-founders of the Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and  Robert P. Diggs the first African American to serve as President of the Principals Association.
